Software and Asset License
Service operator: spinevfxbuddy
Purchase and refund policy updated: September 22, 2026
This License governs use of the SpineVFXBuddy software, exported works and official assets together with the Terms of Service. The Operator grants only the rights expressly stated here and only to the extent it is authorized to do so; rights not expressly granted are reserved. Payment does not transfer software or third-party asset ownership or replace independent third-party licenses.
1. Ownership and license scope
Users retain ownership of original content. Software use and official assets are licensed only within the express scope of this License. Third-party licenses, trademarks, likeness rights and User-owned assets remain subject to their respective rules. The Operator reserves rights it lawfully holds in its software and official assets that are not expressly granted. Access, download availability or technical export capability does not authorize commercial use beyond the license scope.
2. Free: noncommercial use and internal evaluation
Free permits personal learning, experimentation, noncommercial personal work and job portfolios. Paid commissions, client deliverables, commercial games or apps, advertising and company promotion are excluded. A free download with ads, in-app purchases or a business purpose remains commercial. Purely internal company evaluation and compatibility testing are permitted exceptions; formal commercial production, promotion and delivery require paid licensing from production onward.
3. Pro and Team: actual-user licensing
Pro licenses one actual User, including client work and commercial work for an employer, regardless of revenue or individual/company status. Accounts must not be shared. Multiple Users, shared projects and team administration require corresponding Team seats. Team purchases are not yet available; descriptions do not constitute available authorization. Clients who only receive and use delivered works occupy no editor seat; actual editor Users require the appropriate license.
4. Free works, upgrades and effective authorization
Works created under Free may obtain commercial rights by being exported again during a valid paid period after upgrade. Upgrading does not retroactively excuse unlicensed commercial use. Commercial exports are confirmed against the workspace actually used and its valid authorization; payment or upgrade alone does not replace the required licensed-export process.
5. Normal expiry and existing exported works
Works lawfully exported during valid paid access permanently retain the commercial rights granted here after normal expiry and may be delivered, sold and used in new projects, subject to this License and third-party rights. Further commercial production or modification using this editor requires valid paid access; Free remains noncommercial. Other tools may modify lawfully exported works without this editor-access condition, while third-party assets and Spine Runtimes remain subject to their own licenses. Normal expiry and full refunds have different licensing effects.
6. Official assets, delivery and redistribution restrictions
Official assets accessible under Free are noncommercial only. Paid Users may modify plan-included assets for games, video, advertising and client projects, and sell or deliver complete works containing them. Source-project delivery may include assets necessary to maintain that project. Recipients may use those assets only to maintain it, without extracting them for other projects or separate resale. Standalone sharing, sale and assembly into asset packs or libraries are prohibited; simple recoloring or renaming does not remove these restrictions.
7. Official assets after expiry
Normal expiry preserves official-asset rights within lawfully exported works. Paid assets downloaded during paid access but not yet used in a work must not be used for new commercial works after expiry. Separately identified third-party licenses govern those assets. These rules do not change rights in User-owned assets.
8. Full refunds and license revocation
Pro monthly subscriptions, yearly subscriptions and 30-day one-time purchases are non-refundable under the voluntary refund policy. Users must review the product and confirm acceptance of these terms before paying. Cancellation stops future renewals and does not refund paid amounts. Rights that cannot lawfully be excluded and applicable payment-provider rules remain unaffected. Duplicate charges, unauthorized payments or missing paid access require the account email and order reference for review. Refunds required by law or payment-provider rules are handled separately; submitting a request does not establish approval or receipt. A confirmed full refund revokes that purchase’s paid access and commercial rights in works and official assets obtained solely through it; licenses from other unrefunded purchases remain unaffected. Ownership of original content remains with the User, with noncommercial use allowed after revocation. Appropriate relicensing and export under the applicable rules can restore commercial use. Refunding only the excess duplicate charge does not revoke rights from the valid payment.
9. Third-party licenses and Spine requirements
Third-party software and licenses are identified in the Third-Party Notices. Product plans do not include or replace a Spine Editor license. Integrating Spine Runtimes or modifying or developing products containing them requires compliance with the applicable Esoteric Software license and authorization, according to actual use and delivered content. Exporting images, video or data does not inherently constitute Runtime integration or authorize later Runtime use. Distribution containing the Runtime must preserve applicable license and copyright notices.
10. No Warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Software and content generated or exported using it (the “Output”) are provided “as is.” Except for the Operator’s express written commitments or mandatory legal requirements, the Operator makes no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and does not warrant that the Software or Output will be error-free, continuously available or uninterrupted. This provision does not exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or release the Operator from its expressly agreed delivery obligations.
